Ceramic dewatering technology

Dewater smarter. Cut energy. Recycle your water.

High-efficiency vacuum dewatering technology for mining slurries, mineral concentrates, metallurgical tailings and industrial environmental processing. Ceramic filtration replaces energy-hungry conventional filters with micro-capillary action, delivering drier cake, clearer filtrate and far lower power consumption.

  • Up to 60% smaller footprint than conventional drum or belt filters
  • Typically uses only 10–20% of the electrical energy of conventional cloth disc and belt filters
  • Fully automatic, programmable operation

Three core products

Ceramic components we supply

Ceramic filter plate (sector plate stack on a ring)

Ceramic Filter Plates

Microporous ceramic sector plates (brown fused alumina, white fused alumina or silicon carbide) giving strong capillary suction, flexural strength ≥ 30 MPa and long service life.

Ceramic scraper knife

Ceramic Scraper Knives

Precision ceramic blades that cleanly discharge the filter cake while leaving a thin protective cake layer to safeguard the plate.

Friction ring / valve head

Friction Rings & Valve Heads

Wear-resistant distribution valve rings that maintain an airtight vacuum seal, stable rotation and no slurry cross-leakage.

Fully automatic programmable operation

How it works: a 4-stage continuous cycle

  1. 01
    Cycle diagram: cake formation

    Cake Formation

Submerged microporous plates draw liquid through capillary action. A vacuum pump pulls filtrate into the filtrate pipes while cake builds up on the plate faces.

  2. 02
    Cycle diagram: cake dewatering

    Cake Dewatering

Rotating above the slurry level, continuous capillary action extracts residual moisture, giving minimal cake moisture at very low energy use.

  3. 03
    Cycle diagram: cake discharge

    Cake Discharge

Ceramic scraper knives shave off the dewatered cake. A thin solid layer is retained, preventing scraper contact and protecting the ceramic plate.

  4. 04
    Cycle diagram: back-flushing

    Back-Flushing (Regeneration)

Clean water is back-washed from the inside out to dislodge residue, keeping filtration rates high and regenerating the pores.

Ceramic scraper knives

Clean cake discharge, protected plates.

Ceramic scraper knife

Non-contact plate protection

Precision-set to a controlled 0.5–1.0 mm gap, leaving a thin residual cake layer that acts as a natural buffer against abrasion.

Wear-resistant ceramic edge

High-purity alumina (95–99% Al₂O₃) or toughened zirconia ceramic, hardness above HRA 88, service life typically 5–10× longer than alloy or plastic scrapers.

Chemical and slurry resistance

Highly resistant to strong acids, caustics, organic solvents and high-salinity leach solutions found in gold, nickel, copper and battery-recycling operations.

Reduced maintenance downtime. Clean cake stripping lowers filter motor torque and extends overall plate life.

Friction rings and valve heads

An airtight seal at the heart of the filter.

Friction ring / valve head

Vacuum chamber isolation

The friction ring is the core dynamic seal between the rotating main shaft barrel and the stationary multi-channel distribution valve head, separating the vacuum suction and backwash water circuits.

Ultra-low friction and high hardness

Mirror-polished industrial ceramic or reinforced composite sliding pairs minimise friction, overheating, groove galling and pressure drops.

Separation of filtrate and wash cycles

Prevents slurry seepage into the high-pressure backwash zone and maintains vacuum levels (≥ -0.09 MPa) across all shifts.

Maintenance friendly: standardised bolt-circle interfaces allow quick on-site replacement without dismantling the filter shaft.

Compact footprint: modular design needs up to 60% less floor space than conventional rotary drum or belt press filters.
Major energy savings: micro-capillary dewatering means a much smaller vacuum pump and significantly lower total power consumption.

Why choose this technology

Less power, cleaner water, less downtime.

Ultra-low power demand

No massive vacuum pumping station. Uses only 10–20% of the electricity of conventional cloth disc and belt filters.

Lower carbon footprint

Clear filtrate for recycling

Fine pores produce very clean filtrate (typically under 10 ppm suspended solids), supporting in-plant water recycling without secondary clarifiers.

Closed-loop water recovery

Automated in-situ cleaning

PLC-controlled ultrasonic cleaning with dilute acid/alkali washing restores pore permeability without manual tear-down.

Minimal downtime
